Meeting-House

The meeting house was built in 1678, before it became legal for Quakers to gather for Worship. Its surrounding burial ground is now a peaceful garden, retaining its post-1850 headstones.

The ‘Institute’ extension, and the house across the garden now accommodating the Resident Friend, were built in the 19th century as a Friends’ Adult School. A further extension was built in 2004 to provide an additional meeting room and better facilities.
