Online Meeting for Worship

Online meetings for worship follow basically the same format as the physical meetings, except the meeting room is an online video conference! So, if you have not yet attended a Quaker meeting, please also take a look at our first-time page.

Woodbrooke has been offering online meetings for worship for quite a few years, but this has expanded greatly during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. They hold several meetings at different times of day, for different durations, and using various online resources. There is a FAQ that tells you what to expect at a Woodbrooke online MfW.

Many local Quaker groups are now holding their own online meetings for worship, often using Zoom. Read about some people’s experiences in this New York Times report. Since lockdown in mid-March 2020, Settle Meeting has been “worshipping where we are” on Sundays from 10.30 to 11.30. In May we have added the option of joining an informal Zoom meeting for worship. Please contact Marian McNichol if you are interested in joining this.
